Wir waren mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden. Leider hatten wir kein warmes Wasser in den ersten zwei Tagen. Der Durchlauferhitzer war nicht aktiviert, zudem befand er sich im privaten Raum. Die Hilfe kam per Telefon und auf englisch. Auch die Infos sind auf englisch, es wäre schön, wenn diese in deutscher Sprache sein könnten!!!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property with our adult children. The house worked very well for us as it is actually two apartments, an upstairs and a downstairs, meaning we all had lots of space and the kids had privacy. It had a great sociable space for dining outside. It has two kitchens both well stocked for our needs. The mosquitoes can be a problem (we visited in September). Take lots of repellant. The house was well stocked with plug in anti mosquito devices in every room but you need to get your own refills, readily available in all the local supermarkets. It was located much nearer to San Gimignano than we had expected, only a 10 - 12 min walk. Uphill on the way there but still not onerous. It meant no worries about parking and we could all enjoy wine with dinner when we were eating out and then have an easy walk back. It is located in a lovely country setting even though it is so close to the town with large grounds and olive groves to wander around, roughly 10 acres. The views over the Tuscan countryside are stunning, particularly from the pool area. The owners Vittorio and Marina are delightful, very eager to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They live in a separate property on site but are very mindful of guests privacy. They offered a number of helpful suggestions regarding things to do and the best places to park in Siena and Florence. We needed to access some medical services when we were there and again they were very helpful, even offering to drive us to the facility. We have been trying to learn Italian and they were also very willing and patient allowing us to practice our Italian on them although they do both speak English. Overall a great place to base yourself if you want to explore Tuscany from one convenient location, delightful and helpful owners included.
We used the place in a group of 10 people and had a great time!
Quick sum up of the things, that we always want to know, when we book a house like this:
The kitchen is big enough and has 2 large fridges, a big stove and an oven. In addition to that a big barbecue and a stone pizza oven.
The pool is huge and has a lot of benches. There's a lso a fridge at the pool. The whirlpool is also nice and comfortable for up to 8 people. Make sure to inform the owner/the agency in advance, if you want to use the pool from the first day on! We didn't know that and had to wait a little.
Indoors and outdoors there's a large table and space for everyone for a shared meal. Indoors there's also couches to fit the whole group.
The rooms are nice, more than enough bathrooms and showers and the whole setting is very comfortable and gives of a nice and homey atmposphere.
AND: It's a well-paved road to reach the house, so also reachable with non-offroad cars ;)
BUT there's quite an amount of mosquitos, so make sure to bring candles and repellants.
All in all: Great stay, lovely owners -> fully recommended.
Incantevole is a lovely villa situated in a very quiet area. The house is very well equipped with comfortable beds and relaxing places to sit, both inside and out.
We were there in September when the weather was relatively warm but not hot so we were not concerned about the lack of air con.
The house is obviously a family holiday home as there are plenty of small details around and art works on the wall.
The pool suited our daughter as it was a good size and she was able to swim back and forth. As she was swimming we relaxed on the loungers and enjoyed the view to the lake.
There were several good supermarkets within easy driving distance and the bars and restaurants down at the lake at Moniga del Garda were an excellent place to enjoy an evening drink and watch the sun go down. A fists class villa.
Das Anwesen ist wirklich super zum Relaxen, der Pool schön groß und sauber. Die Besitzer bzw. Mitarbeiter dort sind ausgesprochen feundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein Kritikpunkt ist in unserem Fall das separat stehende Haus, welches für 2 Personen zu klein ist und keinen Mückenschutz am Fenster hat. Außerdem gibt es dadurch nachts störende Geräusche, wenn der Boiler an geht oder der Kühlschrank brummt. Es ist eben nur ein Raum. Wir würden wieder hin fahren, nur dann die größeren Appartments buchen.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] The property is truly great for relaxing, and the pool is nice, large, and clean. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. One point of criticism in our case concerns the separate cottage: it is too small for two people and lacks mosquito screens on the windows. Additionally, there are disturbing noises at night—such as the water heater kicking in or the refrigerator humming—since it is just a single room. We would return, but next time we would book one of the larger apartments.
We’d a fantastic stay at Poggio Falcone. The house is stunning in a calm environment still close to villages with shops and restaurants and a short drive to several medieval towns like Montepulciano and Castiglione del Lago. The restaurant in the property area is well worth to utilize, also being managed by the family. All very nice, friendly and welcoming. We look forward to future stays as base to continue explore the beautiful area.
