The villa was absolutely fantastic and Marina & Franceso could not have been more helpful. Pergine is very well situated between Montevarchi, Arezzo and Sienna, and is only a short drive into the Chianti Classico region as well as Florence. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! There are little shops in the village to buy produce, meats and bread. If you visit at the end of November you will be able to enjoy the Olive Oil Festival in Pergine and the chocolate Festival in Arezzo. We have attached two photos: One with Marina & Francesco in their home the night we enjoyed a cooking lesson and dinner with their beautiful family, and the other from the villa itself on an evening we prepared dinner. You will not be disappointed with this villa.... it was the perfect choice for our holiday and we have very high standards when it comes to accomodations.

Wonderful property and owners! Definitely take the guided walk around the property offered. Reserve the cooking class before your stay (minimum 4 required). Also definitely go horseback riding - wonderful ride and amazing views. Siena is about 20 minutes away, so keep that in mind. The restaurant near the property is only average, but another new one on the road to Siena is excellent. Finally - in your drive around the Tuscan countryside be sure to stop in Pienza - what a delight!

The villa itself was beautiful and well maintained. The location of the surrounding mountains is beautiful. [Owner Comment - We definately recommend renting a car. Although the bus stop is only 2km from the villa and the village is closeby at 7km a car is always recommended]

This was a wonderful find ! Website reservations are always a little questionable until the reality appears,but I can't imagine a better value than "Il Padronale",from any source.
Large,antique-furnished rooms,working fireplace,spectacular views,wonderful location,and,most importantly,our hosts,Stefano and Sergio,who couldn't have been more welcoming,helpful,and accommodating.Highest recommendation!¿Recomendaría esta propiedad a un amigo? Sí

Very attractive apartment in a centrally located site near the train line between Lucca & Firenze. It was a little hard to locate. Very Clean & newly remodeled. We hope to return somtime.

Our stay at Podere Il Doccio was very enjoyable -- quiet location away from public roads, but close to many Tuscan attractions (easy to visit Florence by train, and easy drives to Cortona, Sienna, Assisi, etc.) Situated in beautiful Tuscan countryside (vineyards, olive groves, etc.), close to some nice mountain areas.
Marina and Francesco were wonderful hosts -- a highlight of our trip to Italy was Marina's cooking class, and especially the ensuing dinner with their family (complete with wine, olive oil and grappa that they had produced.) Very charming people, very helpful and friendly!
The nearby towns offer a number of nice Tuscan restaurants -- Osteria del Acqualina (very close by) is truely outstanding, and Ostorio Il Canto del Maggio (nearby in Penne) is also excellent. Il Solito Posto in Terranuova was good as well.
In the interests of "truth in advertising", it should be noted that if your ideal is a plush villa with a panoramic view over the Tuscan countryside, Podere Il Doccio may not be for you. It is a rustic (but nicely remodeled and furnished) old house located about a km down a one-lane gravel road, in a deep valley on a small stream. It has a very nice setting in the midst of a wooded area, adjacent to a small vineyard, and very quiet and peaceful - but no "long" view.¿Recomendaría esta propiedad a un amigo? Sí

A wonderful rural villa with spectacular views and beautiful grounds. Good proximity to tourist towns (Cortona, Arezzo, Montalcino, etc.) but a car is a must for this villa. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable.

This is the nicest property we have ever rented. Great location! You can get to most places in Tuscany and Umbria within one hour. Owners are charming and very helpful. Recommend having the owners make dinner and provide wine - You'll love it! Near all major tourist sites in Tuscany and Umbria. Has an incredible view over the Valley of the Chiana and up to Montepulciano.

This is a nearly new, large and beautifully maintained house. The surrounding property, including the large pool are private and very attractive...rose bushes in abundance.
The property is well located, especially if Cortona, Florence, Chianti, Arezzo, Perugia, Asissi are on your visiting list.

The villa is situated in a small village full of friendly Italian people who are only to happy to make you feel welcome. There are excellent restaurants nearby and many places to visit. It is easy to get to Florence for a dys excursion from the villa.
