Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Wir waren 8 Erwachsene. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, sauber und wunderschön gelegen Selbst die Nähe zur SS68 stört kaum. Die Außenanlagen sind sehr gepflegt. Der Pool steht dem in nichts nach und wird regelmäßig gereinigt. Es genügend Liegen und Sonnenschirme vorhanden. Herr Mauro kümmert sich rührend um seine Gäste und ist immer erreichbar. Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurden in den 10 Tagen Aufenthalt 2 mal gewechselt! Die gute Erreichbarkeit der wichtigsten Städte und Sehenswürdigkeiten der Toskana ist ein weiterer positiver Aspekt. Casa Mauro ist sehr empfehlenswert!
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] It was a wonderful vacation. We were 8 adults. The house is very spacious, clean and beautifully located. Even the SS68 road hardly bothers. The grounds are very well maintained. The pool is the perfect match and is cleaned regularly. There were enough chairs and umbrellas available. Mr. Mauro takes very good care of his guests and is always reachable. Towels and sheets were changed 2 times in our 10 day stay! The good access to major cities and attractions of Tuscany is another positive aspect. Casa Mauro is highly recommended!
My husband and I had the most wonderful vacation! The town of Marina di Castagneto Carducci is so amazing! We loved everything about our vacation. The apartment is a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The owners are such a delight and we really enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them. We had an amazing vacation and hope to be back soon!
I agree with other reviewers that the photos on the website don't do Le Pergole justice. I've posted additional photos to give a better sense of the beautiful grounds and the amazing views. The location is private and serene, with its own olive grove, cherry trees and two small fish ponds. The view of the Chiesa in Volterra at sunset is spectacular, and goes well with a nice bottle of wine. The spacious, beautiful pool area is set below the level of the house and surrounded on 3 sides by walls, stones and tall trees, combining a real sense of seclusion with a spectacular view of the valley below.
The house is simple, spacious and comfortable inside. It could sleep 6 easily, 8 reasonably well, and 9 at a pinch. That said, we found it the perfect size for just 2.
The kitchen is small but well appointed, and combined with the grill outside, is more than sufficient to cook a beautiful meal for two. Storage space is limited so, for a larger group, you might need an additional trip or two to the market. There's a brick oven in the grill area, though we didn't use it.
There is a small TV with HDMI in the sitting room, if you decide to spend an evening in or need to keep tired kids occupied.
Le Pergole, like the houses in the surrounding valley, is a working farm, so there was a bit of farm noise throughout the day, but never enough to disturb the serenity. If anything, it added to the sense that Le Pergole is a real and special place.
The owner was gracious, friendly and extremely responsive, and welcomed us to La Pergole with a nice bottle of wine from the family's vineyard. The family maintains a small apartment above the wine fermentation shed adjacent to the property. During our visit, it was only occupied in the late evening. It is screened off by a fence, accessed by a separate gate, and during our visit did not interfere with the sense of privacy.
Le Pergole is a rare place and is highly recommended. We will definitely return.
I highly recommend Villa Carolina to anyone who wants to spend time in Tuscany. The villa is lovely with just the right combination of Tuscan charm and modern Italy. The grounds are quit and beautiful. Gabriele and Luccia, the owners are helpful, friendly but are not intrusive. The Villa is centrally located for day trips.
Wij hebben hier een top vakantie gehad. Het huis heeft een prachtig uitzicht, een heerlijke tuin met zwembad en is van binnen netjes afgewerkt en van alle luxe voorzien. De 3 badkamers waren ook erg fijn. Minpuntjes: de afwasmachine deed het niet en van al het servies e.d. hadden ze precies 8.

The 3 bathrooms were also very nice. Minuses: the dishwasher did not work and for all the crockery etc. we had exactly 8 pieces.

Vom 06.06.-10.06.2013 verbrachten 12 Mädels einen wunderschönen Kurzurlaub in der Toskana.
Tenuta Mariani Al Crocicchio hieß unsere Unterkunft, Haus Bruna. Diese Ferienwohnung für 12 Personen war wunderschön, sehr liebevoll und geschmacklich eingerichtet.
Hanglage, sehr ruhig gelegen, Auto empfehlenswert!
Wir fühlten uns von Anfang an wohl und heimisch.
Die Eigentümerin ist sehr freundlich, geht auf alle Wünsche ein. Man kommt sich vor, als würde man sich schon länger kennen.
Vor Ort konnten wir bei den Eigentümer eine Weinbegehung und Weinprobe machen.
Die selbst zubereiteten Häppchen und der Wein waren sehr lecker!

Tenuta Mariani Al Crocicchio was the name of our accommodation, unit Bruna. This holiday home for 12 people was beautiful, very loving and tastefully furnished.
On a slope, very quiet, a car is recommended!
We felt comfortable and at home from the beginning.
The owner is very friendly, responds to all requests. It is as if you know eachother since a long time.
We did a wine tasting on the premises of the owner. The home-cooked appetizers and wine were very tasty!
Wonderful apartment for family of 4 or more! It was a great station for our summer vacation. Easy access to all points in Tuscany. Secluded and peaceful. Janusz is a great host.
Our family loved the apartment we stayed in and it was very clean and comfortable and decorated with antiques. The pool area and grounds were very beautiful, and next to an old castle that was over 1,000 years old. Our only issue was the walls of the building although thick, were only feet away from speeding vehicles all night long. It is no fault to the owner of the villa, but traffic should be redirected and not allowed to speed right next to the walls of their building.
Our family of for had a very relaxing stay renting the whole house. The place was clean and everything functioned beautifully. Even though it rained everyday for a couple of hours, we still enjoyed the outdoor terrace and the terrific views of the area.
The house is up a hill about a ten minute walk to the center of the village. The Thursday market is the best time to go in because the streets are closed to traffic and people are everywhere.
The owners are helpful, kind and responsive.
